No Arab on the face of the earth will ever forget the radiant face of American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, when she announced to the world the "birth-pangs" of a New Middle East based on the suffering of Lebanon. And all the while, her country’s planes, piloted by Zionist officers, were destroying the heritage of Lebanon's Canaanites, Phoenicians and Arabs. After all, what's wrong with destroying bridges, buildings and roads, as long as the New Middle East is on its way?

And as far as we understand it, the rebirth of such an ancient region requires that maps be amended and the infrastructure, both above- and below-ground, be "redrawn." In this sense we can say that the governing leadership which gave Condoleezza her marching orders cannot be accused of lying. We can say this, because the precursors of this New Middle East were quick to emerge. We understood this not through the ineloquent, undiplomatic and odious speech of John Bolton, but by way of Arab satellite television, which are Arab both in name and execution.

While the guns of the [Israeli] occupation were still destroying buildings, the three Arab satellite TV channels, Arab - yes by God – switched over to special programming about the Amazighs in Morocco. They stressed that the Amazigh tribes constitute over two-thirds of the Moroccan population and that they are probably not Arabs … so what?

[Editor's Note: Many Sunnis believe that it is U.S. policy to divide the Arabs along ethnic and sectarian lines in order to control them. Here, the author suggests that Arab satellite TV stations have joined in this project, by broadcasting a documentary that highlights the differences between Arabs and Amazighs, just as Condoleezza Rice announced U.S. plans for a New Middle East].

I don't know whether those who operate Arab satellite television are familiar with the dynasty of Morocco's King Mohammed VI . His mother is Amazigh as well as his grandmother on his father's side. This is not by accident. The regime looked for a system that would combine the populations of the Arab Nation and the Amazigh. Thus the King became a Prince of all believers, Arab and Amazigh. The Queen is most often Amazigh and the appointment of ministers always takes account of the country's ethnic composition.

King Mohammad VI - and please take note of this, all of you Arab satellite stations - is not a Baathist, nor is he a Nasserite, nor an Arab nationalist. There is no Arab nationalist regime threatening the rights of the Amazigh family. All of which begs the question: Just as Condoleezza began preaching about a New Middle East, why all of this meaningless noise blaring simultaneously from three different Arab stations?

In our misery, we had almost forgotton the episode with the Arab satellite channels, and please don't forget they're Arab - until [President of the Kurdish North] Massud Al-Barzani surprised us and announced that in some parts of Iraq, the Iraqi flag would be lowered, and in the north, since that's a Kurdish area, it would be replaced by the Kurdish flag. The Arabs don't deny - after all, how could they - that that their Kurdish brothers have special rights in Iraq, which is their country. too. But this business of taking down the Iraqi flag leads us inevitably to Condoleezza's announcement [about a New Middle East]. As for Abdul Aziz al-Hakim [head of the Iraq's largest Shiite political party, the SCIRI ], in broad daylight he uses the Persian tongue to discuss the affairs of the land of Al Mutanabbi. [In other words, Iraq. Al Mutanabbi is a famous Iraqi poet ].

[Editor's Note: By criticizing Hakim's use of Persian, the author is pointing out how Iraqi Shiites are behaving more like Iranian Persians than Iraqi Arabs.]

During these critical times, the Egyptian Street is also witnessing calls for religious separatism. Doesn't this confirm the disease in the Arab body? And where has this illness reached? Even to Egypt, the quiver in Allah's hand and the mighty fortress of the Arabs? All of these events have taken place by virtue of Condoleezza’s announcement ...

This New Middle East tears apart the Arab Nation and ridicules the project for an Arab renaissance, by depicting Muslims as reactionary, fascist and extremist. … This is why additional map changes are deemed so important.

But life and justice are stronger. The Amazighs are parents and brothers and they have rights, the Kurds are parents and brothers and they have rights, and Egypt is Egypt, mother to the Arabs and the World … Let God give victory to whomever he chooses. And let the [Arab] satellite channels enjoy the benefits of the six sided star [the Jewish Star] and the prayers of Condoleezza.
