U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Monday that the killing of Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaida, was a defining moment in the war against terrorism. He said that al-Qaida's crimes spanned most continents and resulted in the deaths of thousands of men, women and children.
