The CIA and American Special Forces have been training Syrian rebels in Jordan and Turkey for months, well before the White House announced its intention to increase its “military” aid to the opposition, reports the Los Angeles Times.

A French military source in the Middle East has informed us that American instructors are training rebels in the Free Syrian Army (FSA) who have crossed the border into Jordan. “They have been organizing, leading, and giving advice to Syrian insurgents since the end of last year,” continues our source.
The members of the U.S. Special Forces participate in this training so as to strengthen the capacity to act of those who oppose Bashar al-Assad.
