Bessent’s Futile Sanctions Crumble in the Face of the Shanghai Group’s Multipolar World Order
In anticipation of the landmark Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, I noted that “the umpteenth summit between Putin and Xi is rousing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization from its long slumber.”
President Vladimir Putin defined the significance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization: “Today, the SCO is, in fact, the largest regional association, not only on our shared Eurasian continent, but in the entire world. ... Its member countries are home to nearly half of the world’s population.”
Putin praised the fact that the 10-nation bloc accounts for one-third of global gross domestic product measured by purchasing power; it is one of the world’s leading geoeconomic blocs, with a GDP comparable to that of the United States and the 27-member European Union combined. The combined GDP of China (ranked first globally), India (third) and Russia (fourth) accounts for 92% of their total GDP.
It is understandable that the Israeli-Anglo-Saxon media that controls the West would look down on the rising Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The SCO is rapidly establishing itself as the major platform of the “new multipolar order” — as the G7 falls apart in tandem with the U.S./NATO defeat in Ukraine against Russia and the failure of the Israeli/U.S. aggression against Iran. It has been astonishing to watch Putin in his support of the resilient Iranian people, while Israel and the U.S. wage simultaneous wars against two members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization/BRICS.
Today, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s bloc, covering 36 million square kilometers (about 14 million square miles), accounts for 24% of Earth’s land area and more than 60% of the Eurasian continent. In addition, this powerful, diverse bloc possesses the largest number of nuclear warheads on the planet.
Given the severe U.S. debt crisis, bond market crisis and rising long-term interest rates — coupled with rising prices for hydrocarbons, food and fertilizers — it is hard to imagine the impact of Scott Bessent’s financial complaints. Bessent, a former employee of the Khazar mega-speculator George Soros, met with his Russian counterpart at the G20 summit in Asheville, North Carolina.
The pacifist Environmental Impact Report drew attention to the meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping, noting that “China is willing to work with Russia and other countries to strengthen the forces leading the reform of global governance and promoting a fair and orderly multipolar world.”
The Global Times editorial hailed the “Bishkek Moment” when “the Shanghai Cooperation Organization once again addresses the issue of global governance" in three main areas: security, the economy, and society/culture. This is a continuation of the Global Governance Initiative outlined by Xi at last year’s Tianjin (SCO) Summit. It “rejects zero-sum games and a Manichean black-and-white view of the world; refuses to rely on a hegemonic order; denies the clash of civilizations"; and “strongly opposes unilateral sanctions, trade protectionism, and fragmentation into blocs.”
At the Tianjin summit, the decision was made to establish the SCO Development Bank, a decision to be formalized at the Bishkek summit on the 25th anniversary of the SCO. It will be an organization that upholds the “Shanghai Spirit” and rejects the “law of the jungle.”
Of course, the spoiler, Sergio Gor, controversial U.S. ambassador to Delhi, couldn’t be left out; he showed up in Bishkek, supposedly to cheer on the U.S. team at the Nomad Games. Gor openly supports India’s occupation of the disputed Muslim territory of Jammu and Kashmir, to the detriment of Pakistan.
The alliance between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the SCO is disrupting the Israeli-Anglo-Saxon plans to balkanize the region!
By a twist of fate, several heavyweights from the SCO will meet again on Sept. 12 and 13 at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
