With the U.S. presidential elections quickly approaching, Obama has frequently met with Hollywood stars.

According to the Fars News cinema reporter, only a few more months remain until the U.S. presidential elections, and Obama, like other candidates for these elections, is striving to make the success his own.

Barack Obama, who exerted all of his effort to stay in the White House during the past months, has met again and again with Hollywood stars, striving for a boost to both finances and spirits from this layer of society. And to a large extent, he has been successful in this path.

Among Obama’s most ardent supporters is the wealthy Hollywood actor George Clooney, who up to now has hosted several banquets for the honor of Obama’s presence. These have raised a great deal of money with the goal of backing Obama’s campaign.

A ticket to attend the most recent lunch banquet held in Clooney’s house cost $40,000 per person. In the end, $15 million in financial contributions were collected.

According to the latest published figures, $191 million in financial support has been collected at Obama’s campaign headquarters up to now, $108 million of which was obtained through such parties.

Robert De Niro is another Hollywood star who has officially declared his support for Obama in various meetings.

From 1988 until now, every candidate that De Niro has backed has been the winner in the arena, starting with Bush Sr. and Clinton, and continuing up through Bush Jr. and Obama in the first round of the U.S. elections.

Among other backers of Obama, one could mention Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Jodie Foster, Scarlett Johansson, Spike Lee and Tobey Maguire.

Of course, Michael Moore is also considered one of Obama’s probable backers. In the first round, he was one of Obama’s obstinate adherents and campaign symbols, but some time ago, he announced in an interview that Obama, by not acting on his campaign promises, “has thoroughly disappointed me, but I still have not made a decision for whom to vote because, for me, voting for the Republicans would be a dreadful nightmare.”*

Although it seems that the influence of Hollywood stars on ordinary people would be quite large, according to a poll by a research institute affiliated with the Washington Post, only 30 percent of people give importance to the views of Hollywood stars with regard to this. Many said that they believe television talk-show hosts are more trustworthy individuals for learning about American personalities.

Meanwhile, Obama has managed to bring Oprah Winfrey, the host of one of the most famous television programs, into his election camp.

Obama has recently also held private meetings with Hollywood stars, among whom actors like Jeremy Renner, Dianna Agron, Ben McKenzie, Brian Greenberg, Zach Braff and Brandon Ross were present.
