Morons with Guns

There are a lot of crazies living among us in Germany and it’s the same all over the world. But everybody is allowed to have firearms in the United States, a privilege reserved only for armies elsewhere. What may be a problem for social workers in America could become an existential threat for other people in an instant.

Half-loony gun nuts like the Hutaree militia embrace unbridled racism and absolute hatred for the government in Washington. They think those in the White House are either communists, Jews or have been infiltrated by the United Nations — the differences are blurred depending on who’s doing the talking.

They come from the white, rural lower class, are generally dumber than dumb, and claim to be Christians in the mistaken notion that Christianity is a “white” religion. They may be laughable but they’re also dangerous, as we saw with the Oklahoma bombing that killed 168 people.

Is there a real threat of Christian terrorism now in the United States? Hardly. But as long as they’re armed, the militias are dangerous. Just as the weapons laws will never change in America, neither will that fact.
