After years of stoicism, the Ukrainian president has finally said what many are thinking: The U.S. does not want to help Kyiv and is being dishonest.

Hopefully, one day we will learn how Volodymyr Zelenskyy manages not to fly off the handle constantly as Washington serves up one piece of idiocy after another.

As if it were not enough that Vladimir Putin wants him dead, the Ukrainian president also has to put up with the lies of Donald Trump and his lackeys. And he has been doing so for almost two years.

Never break character: That has been the former actor’s motto. By the end of the week, though, he finally did.

The US Does Not Want To Help Ukraine

What prompted Zelenskyy’s outburst? First, Secretary of State Marco Rubio pontificated about how hard his country was working for peace. Then, Trump gushed about Putin’s generous “help” with diesel supplies.

Zelenskyy blurted out that, instead of helping to bring about peace as promised, the U.S. was investing in Putin’s war and acting dishonestly.

No wonder the usually stoic president has finally had enough. Claiming to be pursuing peace while begging Russia for diesel and easing sanctions is exactly what Zelenskyy calls it: dishonest.

Many of the at least 78 civilians killed in Ukraine this week would also still be alive if America had supplied Ukraine with enough air defense equipment instead of burning through it in the gulf.

It is good to see Zelenskyy finally push back publicly against the U.S. government. We can only hope his country does not bear the brunt of Trump’s anger.
