The 24-year-old previously worked as a reporter and correspondent for several right-wing U.S. networks and is considered a devoted supporter of the U.S. president.

Donald Trump is famous for not being subtle — and that also seems to be a quality he looks for when selecting the people who handle the White House’s dealings with the media, which he has frequently made clear he dislikes. For years, Karoline Leavitt served as the U.S. president’s mouthpiece as White House press secretary — loyal to the bitter end and often bending, twisting or simply disregarding the truth.

But when Leavitt, who had just turned 29, quit her job last August to work for Trump’s political action committee MAGA Inc. and take on a role at Fox News, there was something of a vacuum in the White House press office. Until now. Trump has now added another young woman to his team who is quite clearly devoted to him: Beni Rae Harmony.

On the Far Right

The 24-year-old MAGA hard-liner has previously held roles including White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice, a cable and satellite network owned by Performance One Media that sits on the far right of the U.S. political spectrum. The network has featured and continues to feature hosts such as Steve Bannon, John Solomon and Ted Nugent. It also aired a show hosted by far-right commentator Charlie Kirk, who was killed a year ago.

Harmony, who now holds the title of assistant White House press secretary, confirmed the move herself in a post on X: “I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for this opportunity and for his trust in me.” The MAGA hard-liner appears to have earned this trust by sending clear political messages. A photo of her in a Christmas-decorated living room has been circulating for some time. She is standing with a gray-haired, bearded man in front of a fireplace. Both are holding hunting or sniper rifles and wearing black T-shirts emblazoned with the words “Fuck Joe Biden.” A message that could hardly be more appealing to Trump.

‘F--- Joe Biden’

Harmony’s Instagram presence is equally unequivocal: When she is not gushing over Trump, she styles herself as an influencer and fashion icon with the Mar-a-Lago look.

Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly, who is also only 28, has praised the new assistant, calling Harmony a “trusted voice for the MAGA movement.” That voice once broke when, as a TV host, she reported on Charlie Kirk’s killing. Sobbing on camera, she said Kirk had been her “mentor” and had “changed her life.” According to U.S. media reports, Harmony showed the same loyalty to former bosses such as Steve Bannon, Matt Gaetz and Paul Gosar as she did to Kirk. Gosar caused an uproar when he posted an anime video depicting himself killing Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking Biden. Harmony came to her then-boss’s defense at length.

That apparently impressed Trump — or at least his close advisers — so much that it landed her a place on the White House press team. Lately, that team seems particularly geared toward controversy and confrontation: Media outlets such as CNN, Politico and MS NOW are no longer welcome.
